Kalipofoon was originally built for the 2013 edition of the Perth International Arts Festival (AU), where it caused quite a stir.
A few months later, in the summer of 2013, Kalipofoon was a much talked about attraction on summer festivals in France (Chalon de la Rue, Les Tombées de la Nuit), the Netherlands (Onderstroom Vlissingen, Festival de Beschaving, Boulevard ’s-Hertogenbosch, Festival op ’t Eiland Nijmegen) and Belgium (Zomer van Antwerpen).
Kalipofoon enthralled audiences. It created a ‘vintage vibe’ at wedding parties, beach parties, company events, small parties, yes, even at a Christmas market. It also made memorable guest appearances on cultural events like the Night of Arts and Science in Leiden and the Museum Night in The Hague.
In 2014, Kalipofoon had a packed agenda. Among the highlights were the North Sea Jazz Festival, Oerol and Dauwpop (NL), Dranouter (B), Strassentheaterfestival Detmold (D), Buskers Bern (CH) and London for VS Creative (UK).
